East Dunbartonshire Women’s Aid has been providing services to women, children and young people since 1982.
Our main objective is to provide a complete, all-encompassing and flexible service, which respects the rights, and responds to the needs, of the women, children and young people involved. We also aim to empower women to take control of their lives and make decisions about their own futures.

Refuge Accommodation:
- Custom-built refuges with 5 self-contained flats, staff offices, and communal spaces
- Additional stand-alone refuges
- 10 refuge spaces available throughout East Dunbartonshire

Outreach Services:
- Available across East Dunbartonshire and a specific project set up for Milngavie & Bearsden.
- Services include emotional support, safety planning, and advocacy.

- Practical and emotional support for families who have moved out of refuge

Children and Young People’s Outreach Service:
- Support for ages 5-19
- Services to help children affected by domestic abuse

24-Hour Crisis Helpline:
- Provides immediate assistance at any time

“Own My Life” Group Work:
- A 12-week course to help women who have been subjected to abuse regain ownership of their lives
- Offered in Kirkintilloch & Milngavie

- Peer support groups for women to share experiences and support each other in a safe and confidential environment
