Role
East Dunbartonshire Women’s Aid is a registered charity providing information, support and refuge to women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

We are looking to recruit an office-based Women’s Support Worker who will be committed to our aims and values and who will bring extensive experience of providing a crisis support service to women.

The main role of the post holder will be to offer 1-1 support to women affected by domestic abuse by phone, text, email and by appointment in our office. In addition, there will be a requirement to carry out risk assessments, provide safety planning and work in partnership with other services and professionals as appropriate.

Applicants are required to have, and demonstrate, the appropriate skills, experience and qualifications that are relevant to the duties outlined in the job description and person specification.

Candidates should have an understanding of, and commitment to, the feminist analysis of domestic abuse (or a willingness to learn), experience of interagency working and be willing to work as part of a collective where all staff share management responsibilities within a non-hierarchical structure. Posts are subject to a successful PVG scheme check, suitable references and completion of a satisfactory 6-month induction period.
